"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

Thanks for the kind comments, Blue--I really appreciate them (especially because I haven't been drawing a great lot recently). Believe me, if I had the time, I'd LOVE to draw for IA...but in but a week I go back to school, and along with it back to having even less time than I do now...I honestly think I drew like, two pictures during the last school year. Horrible. ^_^
